The bus front glass is laminated: glass, PVB, glass. A stone strike leaves a crack, not a hole, and the driver keeps a usable screen until the next depot visit. Made to the curve of your body.
Bus window glass along the sides is toughened, so a broken pane falls into small blunt pieces. Sliding and fixed windows are cut and edged before toughening, which means we need finished sizes.
Rear glass is usually toughened as well, flat or bent to the body. Send the model or a drawing and we'll quote the bus back glass price with the rest of the set.
Our bus windshields use the same lamination we use for Laminated Glass in buildings, bent to the body's shape. The PVB holds broken glass in place, which matters at highway speed with a full load of passengers.
Side and rear panes are Toughened Glass, heat treated to be 4 to 5 times stronger than ordinary glass of the same thickness. If one does break, passengers face small blunt pieces rather than sharp shards.

A city bus usually has a tall, fairly flat front glass, while an intercity coach carries a wide, deeply wrapped windshield, and that extra bending and size moves the price from one model to the next.
Some bodies use fixed panes, others use sliding windows in a frame, and a few use bonded glass. Each one needs its own finished size before toughening. It has to stay in front of the driver after a strike. Laminated glass cracks but holds on to the PVB interlayer, so the screen lasts until the bus reaches a depot. A toughened pane would break into small pieces and leave the opening empty.
