Why must bathroom glass be toughened?
Bathroom glass must be toughened because it is safety glass: if it breaks, it breaks into small blunt pieces instead of sharp shards. Toughened glass, also called tempered glass, is 5× stronger than raw glass and breaks into more than 50 particles per 50 × 50mm. Wet floors make slips common, so shower screens, doors and partitions should always be toughened. CLSG is certified to BIS IS 2553 Part 1 for architectural safety glass.

Send us the width and height of each panel, the shower type and a drawing of hinge, handle and clamp holes. Holes for hinges are made before toughening, because toughened glass cannot be drilled later. We cut, drill and edge each panel, toughen it at our Sonepat plant and dispatch it PAN India. Yes. Toughened glass cannot be cut or drilled after toughening, so holes for hinges, handles and clamps, and any notches, are made before toughening. Send a drawing with the final panel sizes and hole positions before we toughen the glass.
Is your bathroom glass BIS certified?
Yes. CLSG is certified to BIS IS 2553 Part 1 for architectural safety glass, so our toughened shower and bathroom glass is safety glass. We are also certified to Part 2 for road transport glass, and to IATF 16949. Our float glass comes from Saint-Gobain India and Emirates Float Glass.
